In a previous post, I wrote about the story behind buying the Pochette Métis. This time it’s a review of the bag. There are many reviews in the worldwideweb about this bag, yet I hope this post will give you more details before buying one.
There has been issues of wear and tear when this bag came out. So when I bought the bag I checked it thoroughly! This bag has been a sought-after to this day. If you visit LV’s website, you’ll see “call for availability” all the time. And you’ll only know if there are available bags (1-3 bags in random days! yes that much & don’t know how often) if you call them.
So what do I think about this bag before I splurged on it? Because you don’t just buy a high-end bag and not able to put your “could not leave the house without” things in it and a bag that wouldn’t go with every day to day outfit.
WHAT I LIKE
A lightweight cross body bag from Louis Vuitton, the Pochette Métis has 2 compartments and a small pocket inside and an exterior zippered pocket. The bag has short handle which I think makes the bag elegant if you opt not to use it as a sling bag.
My first LV bag was a Neverfull and it was deliberately not a monogram with loads of LV logo because I think it’s too much showing off, of the brand. But something about the monogram Pochette Métis that made me decide this is the style that I want – I think it’s the color!
The bag is roomy; with a big wallet, keys, phone (IPhone Plus), hand cream, sunglasses inside, there is still a lot of space. I like that the bag has two compartments as things are organized and easier for me to find my stuff.
The size (The measurement is 9.8’ x 7.5’ x 3.1’ inches (L x H x W) is not too small nor too big for me as 5´3 tall. Even with all the stuff inside it’s not heavy on my shoulders.
WHAT CAN YOU PLACE INSIDE?
In the first compartment I have my big wallet. Not bringing it all the time, but just to give you an idea how roomy this bag is. In the second compartment I have 2 pens in there, one lip balm, my Dior sunnies, hand cream and my mobile phone. Inside the small pocket I have some cash incase I can’t use my card. I place my keys and coins in the pocket at the back of the bag.
Looking at it, there is still place for a headset, or a lipstick or mini make-up kit for retouching.
WHAT I DON’T LIKE
I am not a fan of the iconic s-lock though. But don’t get me wrong I do like this bag. The bag has to be full before I could easily lock it. I don’t hit the hole right away every time I lock the bag. I guess because the lock is just small.
TWILLY (not included with the bag)
Not that I don’t like it. I think it was not worth it. This bag still looks fab even without the twilly. Yes, I regretted I bought it. DUH.
I’d say Pochette Métis is an all-rounder. And if you are looking for a bag with style and functionality this might be one for you.
So there you go, I hope my review has been helpful.
