Will not deny it, I love bags. But I don’t just buy for the sake of having a high end bag. (Except for 1 bag that made Jan a little bit mad at me.) It was a mistake, I must admit. But when you get older, you also make wise choices on things you use your money at…
So when I saw the Pochette Métis 2 years ago I waited before finally deciding to have one, June last year. BUT! By the time I was already sure of having one, I found out the bag is so in demand. Here in London they don’t do waiting list nor accept reservations with full payment anymore. I did some research and it seems that having your hands on this bag is not that easy. One factor that made the bag so popular were fashion bloggers rocking it back in 2013. And the bag has been a hit since. Last June in Paris I looked for PM but with no luck.
Why Pochette Métis?
There are many fake Loui’s yes, because it’s undeniable that LV is a mainstream brand. As long as you know yours is authentic! So why PM?
One reason that made me decide in buying, (or asked this as a Christmas gift) is the increase of the price within just a short span of time. I checked Ebay with PM being sold really way more expensive than the original price sold in the store!
Another one is the style and practicality of the bag. It has two compartments and a smaller one inside, and a back pocket. I will make another post of my review of the PM.
I’ve been stalking LV’s website when we got back to London. Called them and asked but got a vague answer. Jan went to the store and was told to call every week as they might have a few stocks but how many and when they can’t tell. Every week? No way!
On Christmas Eve I got a card from Jan with a photo of the PM that says “SOLD OUT!” because he didn’t find one! And wrote “buy it yourself”. I thought it was very funny and at the same time sweet. A day after (Boxing day) I tried my luck and went to Selfridges and New Bond Street but NOTHING!
On the 27th I got up without any plans for the day. And it was raining – a couch day. I was browsing LV’s website and Jan looking at me said: “Call them instead of checking the website.” I was like I was in the store yesterday they said there is nothing. And then he said: “Try calling today.” So I did. The woman who took my phone call said there is a “low availability” in Sloane Street. Jan was like, GO!!!
And yes I got my hands on a PM monogram 2 weeks ago. The SA asked me how long I waited (he knows how popular the bag is). Indeed, it felt like finding a Birkin, which I find very funny.
