The weather forecast in Copenhagen yesterday was 99% chance of beer and cocktails. So we decided to take advantage of the good weather and spent the entire day in the city with Jan’s family eating, walking, drinking and having fun. We started our day at Told & Snaps 11:30 after we all went to bed 12 Saturday midnight. And dad got a reservation at that said time only for 1.5 hours.
Our lunch at Told & Snaps was good, we all agreed. Service and food was on top. We did not feel rushed despite having only an hour and half reservation. The food portions were appropriate, nobody complained about getting only 3 shrimps or small piece of liver paté in their plates. Plus Jan and dad liked the restaurant’s snaps, which were “restaurant-made”. If you look at the 4th photo below, we think the jars on the shelves above the bar are different flavours of snaps!
This traditional danish restaurant’s ambiance is cozy; in an english basement in Nyhavn.
After lunch we took mom and dad to Papirøen for some international food and crowd. The place never run out of cool visitors excited to try all sorts of menu from around the world.
September is normally a little bit chilly, but not yesterday. It was warmer than expected. After seeing the two new bridges, we sat in a café in Christianshavn with a view to the canal. There were at least 2 canal tours that passed by the café while we enjoyed our Aperol Spritz and rum & cola.
As usual, I wore the wrong shoes for an entire day of walking. We sat outside Palace Scandic hotel to rest my feet while enjoying the sunset with our Irish Hazelnut Punch and Gin tonic.
Dinner was spent at Rio-Bravo restaurant where we had a huge plate of roast pork for 3. Jan and dad had Rio Bravo plate. Yesterday was my second time, the roast pork was not as good as my first time though. But it was ok. I personally like the atmosphere of this place because inside it’s filled with good company of friendship and family. Seeing a group of more than 3 in a table gives me sometimes a different feeling of joy in eating.
After dinner, we all went home to our apartment and ended the night with wine and beer. Cheers to the fun weekend!
